Sunapee’s candidates forum is set for Monday, Feb. 29

Voting DaySunapee, N.H. — A Sunapee 2016 Candidates Forum will be held on Monday evening, February 29, at the Sunapee Methodist Church, Lower Main Street.

“This is your opportunity to participate and become informed of candidates’ qualifications and opinions on town and school issues of vital interest to our community’s future,” the release states. Project Sunapee is sponsoring the event as a community service. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for voters to meet with the candidates; refreshments will be available. The forum, moderated by the League of Women Voters, will start at 7 p.m. The snow date is Wednesday, March 2.

This year’s contested races in Sunapee are for the board of selectmen, zoning board, water and sewer commission and school board.

Sunapee Candidate’s Night set for March 4

SampleBallotSunapee, N.H. — A local candidate’s night will be held on Wednesday, March 4,  at 7 p.m., at the Sunapee Methodist Church, 9 Lower Main Street.

“This is the opportunity for all voters to meet the candidates running for town and school offices. Candidates will make a brief introductory statement and then welcome questions and comments from the audience,” says the public invitation. Sponsoring the forum is Project Sunapee, a community non-profit, which does not endorse or oppose any candidate.

Voting for town and school officers and on the town and school warrants, including budgets, takes place on Tuesday, March 10, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Sherburne Gymnasium, Route 11.

Sunapee Seniors to host candidates forum

The Sunapee Seniors will hold their annual Candidates Day meeting on Monday, February 24 at 1 p.m. at the Sunapee Methodist Church, Lower Main Street. The public is invited to attend. All candidates for Sunapee school and town offices have been invited to present their views and qualifications. Election Day is Tuesday, March 11.

Also, at the Seniors meeting, Sunapee Town Manager Donna Nashawaty and Superintendent of Schools Russell Holden will answer questions about town and school warrant articles and Director Mary Danko from Abbott Library will give a progress report on the new town library under construction.

If the weather is inclement, the meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 25 at 1:00 at the Sunapee Methodist Church.

Sunapee Seniors: Annual Candidates Day Feb. 25

This year’s Candidates Day forum held by the Sunapee Seniors will be on Monday, February 25 (at 1 p.m.) at the Sunapee Methodist Church (meeting room), Lower Main Street, Sunapee. Candidates for school and town offices have been invited to present their views and qualifications. The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served after the program.

The group will also discuss this year’s town and school warrant articles with invited guests: Donna Nashawaty, town manager; Brendan Minnihan, school district superintendent; Shaun Carroll, school board chairman; Mary Danko, director of Abbott Library; and Terri White, library trustee.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

Sunapee candidates forum is Feb. 27

The Sunapee Seniors will hold a public forum on Monday, February 27, 2012, for candidates running for town and school offices in Sunapee. The meeting will be held at the Sunapee Methodist Church on Lower Main Street, starting at 1 p.m. The agenda includes discussion of town and school warrant articles.

Sunapee Seniors plan for Valentine’s Day and Candidates’ Day

The Sunapee Seniors will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a pot luck luncheon on Monday, February 14th at 12:00 noon at the Sunapee Methodist Church.  Lyn and Frank Gallup, Rose Batts and Lois Giblin are in charge of  arrangements, and “Capt. Al” Peterson will provide the musical entertainment.

Then, at the Seniors second meeting of the month on February 28th, the focus will turn to Town Meeting and Town Elections. The Sunapee Seniors are inviting all candidates for school and town offices to present their views and qualifications during their annual Candidates’ Day program. The meeting on the 28th will be held at the Sunapee Methodist Church, Lower Main Street, starting at 1 p.m. and will include a brief presentation of local warrant articles by town and school representatives.
