Sunapee, N.H. — French classical guitarist Claude Bourbon performs at the Sunapee Community CoffeeHouse on Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m. The Coffeehouse meets at the Lake Sunapee  Methodist Church, 9 Lower Main Street.

Food and beverages will be available. There is no cover charge but a hat is passed for the musician and venue expenses.

The CoffeeHouse kicks off the Fall Session with French singer-songwriter and brilliant musician Claude Bourbon who takes blues, Spanish, Middle Eastern, and Russian styling’s into uncharted territories

“Come experience a rich evening of music listening to top quality performer Claude Bourbon weave his magic. He is known throughout Europe and America for his amazing guitar performances,” says the CoffeeHouse release.

Claude Bourbon grew up in Switzerland where for a time he was classically trained, but he soon felt the need to explore the guitar without the limitations of written music and delved headlong into folk, blues, jazz and rock music. Now based in the U.K., he has become a world-renowned player, highly acclaimed for his finger-picking style—plucking, picking and strumming at such speed that his fingers seem to appear just as a blur. His sound instantly creates ambience – from haunting Spanish moods to lyrical, romantic jazz. He has crafted an unbelievable fusion of classical and jazz, with ethereal Eastern influences, Spanish and Latin elements with strains of Western folk.

The Sunapee Community Coffeehouse is an all-volunteer, community-based concert series that offers Friday night performances November through December, with an Open Mic Night in October and December.

The venuSCCoffeeHousee is for both professionals and amateurs who wish to play in a quiet friendly setting with an attentive audience. The CoffeeHouse encourages local talent and original works.
