Sunapee Schools: News and Notes

Feb 13 2013 WAP 011 FINALStudents deliver Valentine boxes to Sunapee seniors

A group of students, staff and parents of Sunapee Central Elementary School delivered decorated Valentine’s boxes to area seniors on February 13. This is the 13th year for the Valentine Community Service Project at the school.

Each classroom preschool through fifth grade decorated three boxes and enclosed a handmade valentine. Appoximately 40 boxes were delivered.

Bags and Bows in Groton, Mass., donated the boxes and SCES staff and families contributed items including candy and baked goods to fill the boxes.

“It was especially gratifying for the generosity of so many people to complete a project and ultimately seeing the response of our seniors who appreciated the gesture so much,” said Patty Zimmerman, administrative assistant at SCES.
