Art, poetry, music… take your pick!

Exhibit openings, poetry readings, and musical performances — an array of events showcasing the creative community in the Lake Sunapee region takes place this Friday, May 4. These events are free and open to all.

>> Lake Sunapee Region Center for the Arts continues its “First Fridays” with fine art, light refreshments and opening receptions at the Center’s micro galleries in New London, 4-7 p.m. Locations and featured artists: Millstone Restaurant (Wolfgang Ertl), New London Inn (Susan DeAppolonio), Zero Celsius Wealth Studio (Elizabeth D’Amico and Craig Maine), and Country Houses Real Estate (Jeanne Maguire Thieme).  For more info, visit: CFA Micro Gallery.

>> Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire – The Elements of Spirit: Words, music and art come together at the Knowlton House at Sunapee Harbor, 5-7 p.m. The CFA event will feature author Caroline Fairless, musician Jim Sims, and the poetry of Amber Rose Crowtree, Joan T. Doran, Maggie Kemp, Robert Manchester, Jennifer Militello, and Ellen Pysz. Ewa Cruciel, poet and professor at Colby Sawyer College, will introduce the poetry.

>> Harpist Katelyn Croft will be performing at Rockwell’s Tavern at the New London Inn, 5-7 p.m.
