A memory painting

“The Man With The Lucky Hat” is a memory painting,” says Parmenter.

“It’s a portrait of my father, done from an old photo I took of him in the 1970’s.  He referred to that old, green felt hat as his ‘lucky hat,’ which served him well on this particular opening day of fishing.”

Parmenter re-calls it as “a happy memory,” fishing with her dad on that cold April day.

The pastel society show will include paintings from 40 artists, from New Hampshire as well as New England.

The Pastel Society of New Hampshire is a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation of soft pastels as a fine art medium.

The Jaffrey Civic Center is at 40 Main Street. Gallery hours are: Tues. 10-6, Wed., 1-5, and Sat. 10-2.
