Interested in getting more involved with the town?
New London could not function without the time and experience of its many volunteers, both elected and appointed. The following positions will be up for election this year and will be voted upon at Town Elections on Tuesday, March 8, 2011:
1 Selectman – 3 years
1 Trustee of Trust Funds – 3 years
3 Budget Committee Members – 3 years
1 Budget Committee Member – 1 year
1 Cemetery Commissioner – 3 years
2 Tracy Memorial Library Trustee – 3 years
The work performed by these committees is summarized in previous Annual Reports, available at the Town Offices or on-line. The filing period for candidacy runs from 8:00 AM on Wednesday, January 19 to 5:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2011. You may file for candidacy in person only at the Town Clerk’s Office, 375 Main Street in New London.

Openings in the School District
Also on March 8, New London voters will elect one member to the Kearsarge Regional School Board (3-year term) and one to the KRSD Municipal Budget Committee (3-year term). Filing forms are available at SAU #65 Office, 114 Cougar Court, New London; or on-line at www.kearsarge.org. Interested candidates must file in person from 8:00 AM on Wednesday, January 19 to 4:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 with Leigh Ann Stone, District Clerk, SAU Office, 169 Main Street, New London. Absentee ballots for the March 8 Town Elections may be obtained prior to the election. Applications are available in the Town Clerk’s Office or can be printed on-line and faxed (526-9494) or mailed to the Town Clerk (signature required).
