Sunapee Seniors will present a program about the New England Handicapped Sports Association on Monday, January 10 at 1 pm at the Sunapee Methodist Church, 17 Lower Main Street. The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will follow the program. NEHSA Director Tom Kersey will be the guest speaker. He will present a slide show about NEHSA activities including the role of its volunteer members who come from all sectors of the community and occupations….”doctors, nurses, policemen, firemen, students, office workers, plumbers, judges, lawyers, electricians, teachers, realtors, airline pilots, flight attendants, postal workers, UPS employees, information technology managers, pharmacists and machinists, to list a few,” notes the program announcement.
What this diverse group all shares is a common interest in working with students, children and adults, who have a variety of major to minor obstacles to navigate around: visual impairments, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, cancer, amputations, spinal cord injuries and autism…. These challenges do not hold them back from recreation and the snow sports they enjoy at Mount Sunapee Resort.
