The Mink Hills Band, a string band that takes it name from the Mink Hills of Warner (NH), will be playing at the Sunapee Community Coffeehouse in Sunapee on Friday, November 12 from 7 to 9 pm. The band plays music from different genres, bluegrass, country, blues, and jazz.

Valerie Blachly, on vocals and acoustic bass, has performed for years, notably with the local swing trio Sweet Hot and Sassy and a duo project with guitarist Tim Mowry.

Peter Leavenworth will be on vocals, baltio, dobro, guitar, and pedal steel. He’s performed for the past 25 years with such bands as Lunch at the Dump, Second Hand Rose, The Electric Caves, and the Spud Cannons. He is working on a book about popular music in early America.

Jim Barthelemy will be singing vocals and playing mandolin. Also, on vocals and guitar will be Ted Blachly.

The Sunapee Community Coffeehouse is located downstairs in the Methodist Church, Lower Main Street, Sunapee. It is an all-volunteer effort that provides a listening room for professional and amateur musicians and appreciative audiences. There is no cover charge but they pass the hat for the musicians and venue expenses. For more information and the calendar of music, visit www.sunapeecoffeehouse.org.
