More about Sunapee’s Main Street Walk

Who might portray Herbert Jones, the Ice Man, or Governor Bartlett or James Perkins… in “Main Street Talks,” a summer happening being planned by the Sunapee Historical Society? The response to a call for participants in the Main Street walk has been “great” said Ron Garceau, president of the SHS, who counted over 30 people that have signed up so far.

An organizing meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Sunapee Methodist Church on Lower Main Street. Those interested in helping, perhaps as an actor, researcher or PR person, are invited to attend.

When the group meets on the 24th, they will be asked to set the program dates. Garceau said that one idea is to hold a street tour on Saturday, August 7 and then an event at the historical society museum at Sunapee Harbor on August 8 for the SHS annual meeting.

For more information and to volunteer, contact Ron Garceau at rongarceau@comcast.net.
