Family Focus: Parents and Children Working Together

Raising children in today’s world can be full of challenges that call into play effective parenting styles, communication and discipline and a variety of childhood behavior issues–all topics to be explored in a series of upcoming workshops offered by the UNH Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County. The program is titled Chaos to Cooperation – Parents & Children Working Together and it is open to parents and caregivers of children ages 6 to 12.

“Parents who took the class last time it was offered reported positive outcomes and told us ‘the class was really helpful!'” said Extension Educator Gail Kennedy.

Led by Family Focus Parent Educator Robin Abendroth, the program will be held at The Counseling Center of Newport, 167 Summer Street on Wednesday evenings September 23 through October 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. For more information and to register, contact the UNH Cooperation Extension at 603-863-920 or email gail.kennedy@unh.edu. Registration has a September 18 deadline and is limited to the first 12 parents that sign up. Enrollment is free of charge.
