Gift Gallery at Newport Library Arts Open til 4 PM

Holiday shopping and looking for that enduring gift? This year’s Gallery of Gifts at the Newport Library Arts Center, 58 North Main Street, offers a special selection…..until 4 p.m. today. The featured artist is Terry Moore, the prominent furniture maker and wood worker, and he’s displaying his work along side pieces created by the prisoners he mentors through the NH Prison Outreach Program. December 20 is the last day to view and shop the gallery. You’ll discover fine wood work and handcrafts from dozens of regional artists and craftspeople. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Terry Moore began working in the prison outreach program in 1998 in conjunction with the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association. Moore produces one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and acoustic guitars. A wood worker since the early 1970’s, he is a founding-member of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, and a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. He is a past recipient of “Best in Show” and “Best Contemporary Work” at the League’s annual craft fair in Sunapee, NH. Before a recent move to Wilmot, Moore’s workshop was in Newport, NH.
