Sunapee, N.H. — The 2014 music calendar at the Sunapee Community Coffeehouse is packed with Friday night shows this winter. Performances are held at the Lake Sunapee United Methodist Church, Lower Main Street, from 7 to 9 p.m. Visit the Coffeehouse website for a complete listing.
On January 17, Neptune’s Car, Holly Hanson and Steve Hayes, will bring contemporary folk to the local listening room. The emcee for the evening will pass the hat for the musicians.
Neptune’s Car, an acoustic duo from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is known for their intimate performance style, carefully crafted lyrics, generous harmony singing, and stellar guitar picking.
In 2010, their song “Lighthouse Keeper” reached Number One on the “Folk-DJ” chart. Their two albums of all-original material have been featured on many “Best Of” lists.
Maverick Magazine gave the duo’s debut album Strawberry Moon four out of five stars and said: “Steve’s guitar playing complements Holly’s vocal perfectly . . . the overall atmosphere created is perfect.”
