The town’s lakefront park at Sunapee Harbor is where you will find the World War II memorial highlighted in our previous Sunapee Sighting.

    James W Brooks, born 1924, parents Harold W & Eva, brother Ken, lived on Main St, graduated H.S. enlisted 9 Mar 1943, pvt US Army.
    Douglas N Blodgett, born 1923, parents Clarence and Estelle, siblings Olive, Vernon, Robert and Burt. lived in Wendell, pvt 1st class USMC, missing in action.
    Harland F Chase, 14 Jul 1924-8 Mar 1945, wife Arlene, son Robert Harland Chase, pvt USMC Reserve, killed at IwoJima, buried Pine Grove Cemetery.
    William A O’Haier, born 1914, parents Robert and Celia, wife Shirely E Dunlop, enlisted 18 Nov 1942 USArmy, grammer school education, occupation lumberjack, killed in Italy, buried in Nettuno, Italy.
