Despite the tough economic times, for Sunapee, there’s some good news. All the Sunapee Harbor businesses that are tenants of the Sunapee Harbor Riverway Corporation, the eateries, the shops and the dance studio, remain open or will be reopening for the 2009 season. The summer entertainment series will also return.
The Riverway, in a recent news release, acknowledged their tenants saying, it “appreciates their efforts, and believes it is a tribute to them and their hard work that they have been able to remain viable during these challenging economic times.”
The Riverway Board of Directors said it “is very pleased to announce that the Anchorage restaurant will continue to be operated under the proprietorship of Glenn & Karlie Shaw for the 2009 season. The Shaw’s have successfully run the Anchorage since the 2006 season offering the only waterfront dining on Lake Sunapee, and have provided excellent food and outstanding live entertainment to Sunapee Harbor visitors.”
The Anchorage, the Marzelli Deli, the Quack Shack, the Wild Goose Country Store and the Harborside Trading Company will re-open in the spring.
Tattered Pages offering “gifts and books with the young in mind” extends it’s hours for the season in the spring. In the winter, it is open Saturdays 10 a.m to 5 p.m. and by appointment. Call 603-763-2539.
Another Riverway business located at 31 River Road is the Jenkins Dance and Gymnastics Center. It continues to gives classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school year from its studio at Pete’s Shed.
The release went on to thank the community for its “continued support of their business enterprises, as it all helps to ‘preserve and enhance our lakeside village’.”
